March 2020 – our dancefloors shut, the rave stops.
Now, after 2 years, our industry has opened itself back up to allow us to unify once again.
Today we start a new chapter of our story by opening ‘Stephenson Recordings’, a subsidiary of ‘Jono Stephenson’, a record label dedicated to bringing you eclectic, yet unique music with a focus on quality and melodic composition above all.
Our mission statement: “To find true love in music: with passion, emotion and humanity”
Our first release is a highly anticipated one for a year running and we could not be happier to finally reveal it.
Blue Horizon features Coyo’s light and warm vocals with Jono Stephenson’s signature driving and energetic basslines, accompanied by a dirty and ever prevalent lead. Meanwhile Solace, its partner in crime, is a breakbeat beauty. It too has a strong yet sustained dirty bassline accompanied by crispy percussion and a heck of a strong bright lead!
‘Blue Horizon’ is out April 8th on all platforms via Stephenson Music followed by ‘Solace’ soon after.
𝐀 𝐟𝐞𝐰 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭:
“I grew up on a small farm which lied in a small town called Howick in South Africa. Howick is known as the town for “the newly weds and nearly dead’s” as its population is comprised of around 80% retirees funnily enough. There’s little to no hope of becoming an artist somewhere such as this.
As a singer, guitarist and pianist: my dear mother taught me everything musically related from a very young age and as much as my love for classical instruments/music is, electronic music stole my heart when I first heard Deadmau5’s remix of Morgan Page’s: The Longest Road featuring Lissie… so I picked up a laptop and taught myself how to make music.
Today, many years later, I am so happy to say that my passion and love for music has led me to open my own record label, start my own clothing brand (coming soon) and open my own promotion and events business.
I am so incredibly excited to bring you ‘Blue Horizon EP’ and I truly hope you enjoy the music, family!”
